Jewellery Care and Warranty
Our jewellery is made from either 925 sterling silver or high quality stainless steel and gold or rose-gold plated to ensure each item retains its shine for years to come.
Stainless steel:
Stainless steel is resilient to water and will not tarnish or rust which makes it ideal as a material for many of our pieces. Over time however, it can lose its colour or take on a dull appearance, but by following our recommendations below your jewellery can retain its shine for many years to come!
Sterling silver:
Sterling silver jewellery is very durable which makes it a popular choice for jewellery. It can become dull over time but is easily revived using a jewellery cleaning cloth to restore its shine.
Gold/rose gold plated:
Following our jewellery care tips below will ensure your gold plated jewellery retains its shine for as long as possible.
All metals:
To enable your jewellery to look its very best for as long as possible, please look after your items as follows:
-Water can impact the colour of sterling silver jewellery, through oxidisation, causing it to darken more quickly therefore the type of water, and any chemicals in it (i.e chlorine) which your silver jewellery is exposed to, should be given careful consideration. If in doubt, leave it out!
-Avoid spraying perfume directly onto your jewellery, as it can harm the appearance of jewellery. Instead, spray perfume first, allow it to completely dry, before adding your jewellery.
-Avoid applying lotions and creams or spraying hair products whilst wearing your jewellery, and instead apply them prior to putting your jewellery on, allowing them to fully soak in as direct exposure to chemicals within the water may cause tarnish.
-Do not wear your jewellery in chlorinated pools, jacuzzis, hot tubs, saunas or steam rooms as exposure to chemicals within the water may cause tarnish.
-Avoid wearing your jewellery during intense exercise as exposure to sweat, and the salt within it, may also cause tarnish.
-Avoid exposing your jewellery to cleaning products- ensure you wear your Marigolds!
-It is advisable to take your jewellery off before going to bed, not only for comfort, but to avoid excess wear or snagging on bedding.
-Store jewellery separately to avoid items becoming scratched or tangled.
-Store jewellery in the jewellery pouch, supplied by The Libra Edit with every purchase, when not being worn.
-Clean jewellery with a soft jewellery cloth if necessary, or simply lukewarmwater and a squirt of washing up liquid using a soft toothbrush, as any build up of dirt or oils can temporarily darken your jewellery
